Barça Faces Alicante After Veszprem Defeat

Published October 3, 2026 · Updated October 3, 2026 · Mundo Deportivo

FC Barcelona handball team will face Horneo BM Alicante in the 4th round of the ASOBAL League this Saturday, just 48 hours after suffering a heavy defeat to One Veszprem in the World Club Championship final.

Barça, who suffered a 33-42 defeat to Veszprem in Egypt, described the loss as an "accident." This marked the end of their impressive 65-game winning streak that had lasted over a year. The match against Alicante will be crucial as Barça looks to bounce back and maintain their momentum in the domestic league.

The match is scheduled for 5:30 PM local time and will be broadcast on ASOBAL TV and streamed live on the MD website. Despite the recent setback, Barcelona remains one of the dominant forces in European handball. sport-tr.bet
