FIS Allows Five Russian Cross-Country Skiers as Neutrals

The International Ski Federation (FIS) has granted five Russian cross-country skiers permission to compete internationally as neutral athletes, including Daria Nepryayeva who competed under the same status last season.

The FIS approval includes Nepryayeva along with Sergey Volkov, Hanna Matsakhina, Ksenia Shorokhova, and Nikita Denisov. Denisov was approved in January but did not compete in World Cup events, having previously won relay gold for Russia at the junior World Championships in February 2022, just before the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

FIS recently updated guidelines for Russian and Belarusian participation for the 2026/27 season, with a total of 30 names on the list of neutral athletes and support personnel, 26 of whom are from Russia. Notably absent is Saveliy Korostelev, who was allowed to compete in World Cup last season and achieved fourth place in skiathlon at the Olympics. hilogame.news
