USL, Players Ratify New CBA with Higher Salaries

The United Soccer League and USL Players Association have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement that introduces 12-month contracts and raises minimum player salaries through 2030.

The new agreement covers both the second-division USL Championship and the upcoming first-division USL Premier, launching in 2028. Championship players will see their minimum compensation increase from $31,000 to $42,000 by 2026, while USL Premier will launch with a compensation floor of $67,500. cricket-ipl.co.za

The introduction of 12-month contracts marks a significant milestone for US lower divisions, as previous agreements had standardized 10-month contracts with varying club commitments to players. Both leagues will see annual salary increases throughout the term of the agreement.
