A few weeks ago I asked which player from the past decade would most help the Phillies and you all had some great ideas. This week, let’s back it up a little further and look at the last “Golden Era” of Phillies baseball — the 2007-2011 team that won five consecutive NL East titles, two NL Championships and the 2008 World Series.
There’s certainly a lot of good choices to pick from with this group, including MVPs, Cy Young Winners, franchise icons, and a Hall of Famer. Is it more important to add the best player regardless of position? If so, Roy Halladay, Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard are all on the table. Or would you rather shore up an area of this team’s weakness? If so, Shane Victorino and Jayson Werth might be good choices for the outfield.
Who are you picking from that era, and why?
