Chargers to Release Guard Mekhi Becton

The Los Angeles Chargers will release veteran guard Mekhi Becton, clearing $9.7 million in cap room and leaving $2.5 million in dead money.

Becton signed a two‑year deal with the Chargers last March, but the contract had no guaranteed money for 2026. He played 15 regular‑season games and started the playoff loss to the Patriots. The move follows his 2020 Jets draft and 2024 Eagles stint that led to a Super Bowl win.
