Flyers beat Maple Leafs in shootout to extend winning streak

Matvei Michkov and Trevor Zegras scored in the shootout as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Monday, extending the hosts' losing streak to four games.

Noah Cates gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead late in regulation before William Nylander forced overtime with a power-play goal. Michkov and Zegras then converted shootout attempts, while Auston Matthews and Max Domi missed for Toronto.

Toronto outshot Philadelphia 31-25, with Anthony Stolarz making 23 saves. The victory is Philadelphia's third straight win, while Toronto's streak hits four. Travis Konecny was absent for the Flyers with a lower-body injury.
