Evans joins the Scarlet Knights after one season with Drake, where he helped develop defensive linemen including Jacob Auen (six sacks), Nolan Korzeniowski (four sacks), and Gene Blalock (four sacks) in 2025. The former Iowa defensive standout brings a wealth of experience, having recorded 135 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, and 28 sacks during his college career with the Hawkeyes.
Evans notably terrorized Rutgers during a 2022 matchup, recording four sacks in Iowa's 27-10 victory. After going undrafted, he had a brief stint with the Baltimore Ravens practice squad in 2024. He joins fellow former Drake coaches Joe Woodley and Adam Cox on Rutgers' defensive staff, working under new defensive line coach Dennis Dottin-Carter.
