Warrenton Girls Claim 8th Grade State Basketball Title

Warrenton's 8th grade girls basketball team captured the state title Sunday with a 60-52 victory over Madras/Warm Springs in the championship game. The team went 5-1 in the tournament, with their only loss coming against Madras in the previous round. Down by nine at halftime, the team battled back to secure the championship. The squad consists of six eighth graders and four seventh graders, with six of the players having competed together for five years.
